Buying an expensive fish feeder works. They are high quality and last forever. But, for the same price, and a little elbow grease and ingenuity you can have a half dozen feeders for the cost of one.
Deer feeders work for most ponds. Buy at least a 6 footer and place it in less than 4 feet of water. Make sure the ground is somewhat flat.
You can repurpose your deer feeder in off-season of hunting. If you are just using a deer feeder for attracting deer in the fall and winter, you can feed your fish during the spring and summer.
PRO-TIPS:
-Place the feeder as far away from the shoreline to prevent raccoon issues
-Tape leg joints together so that none of them fall-off into the water
-Even though catfish feed is cheaper, you get more bluegill growth for you dollar with protein levels above 35%
