Conservation on your Land

What exactly are conservationists? Well, if we had to put this in a larger perspective, a conservationist isn’t just your typical Jo Shmo who talks about wildlife. A conservationist is someone who plays an active role in our communities and advocates for the preservation and protection of our wildlife. Our environment is so important. There are a lot of instances where our environment is taken for granted. While on the other hand there are a slew of people who don’t appreciate the ability of food to give us life. Life tends to drift in a way that suits its needs. By that, I mean where there is too much of something, another something is there to regulate that to make sure that all of the other species out there survive.

There are plenty of people in this world who will say that being a conservationist is no different than killing animals for no reason. Understanding the true meaning of what is means to be a conservationist is something our communities should know. Conservationists advocate for our environment. When one species fails, the next will soon fail, so on and so forth. Conservationists help to maintain this balance through the means of hunting, fishing, etc. Trophy hunting is a term that is misconstrued and often unproperly compared to conservation. Conservationists don’t hunt for trophy, they hunt to harvest, to preserve the population of the species, to protect.
